LEED Gold

We all know that CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions are largely responsible for climate change.
At Lama, we care for the environment. As such our goal is to get as close as possible to a zero carbon footprint. Difficult but achievable.

That’s why Lama’s offices are in a building that has been awarded the LEED gold standard. Gold for energy saving, recycling, good management of natural resources and the environmental quality of the building's interior (brightness, air quality, etc.).
Within the LEED framework, we currently separate and recycle 29.5% of waste, separating it into paper, plastic and aluminium-glass, while recycling ink - toners, appliances and batteries. Our goal is to push this even further and reach a recycling rate of 35% by the end of 2023.

The Lama office building also makes use of sophisticated energy saving techniques and time scheduling to constantly reduce electricity and heating oil consumption - without compromising the conditions of the space in terms of occupant comfort and air quality

  • At Lama the lamps we use are LED technology and lighting is controlled by motion sensors in all offices.
  • VRVs in offices and lighting in public areas are operated on a schedule
  • Exhaust fans in the garage are operated individually during peak hours.
  • The external lighting of the building is operated by a luxmeter

Why LEED matters
for our people and clients

In practical terms, it means we work and live in a building which aims to continuously reduce our impact on the environment, and our clients can rest assured that we are always looking to provide our amazing creative services in the most environmentally friendly way.

Our building owners, in partnership with their tenants, like us, are committed to continuously upgrading our processes, habits and the environmental footprint of the building, replacing older energy-intensive systems with newer and more efficient ones.

For example:

  • Already about 10% of the building’s VRVs have been replaced with newer, more efficient machines and further new investments are planned.
  • The cladding of the building is being gradually changed to improve the energy efficiency and aesthetics of the building (12/2022 - 2/2023)
  • A plan is being set out to instal photovoltaic systems on the roof of the building that will eliminate external electricity use and make the building a net small power producer (06/2023 - 09/2023)
  • We are creating more gardens, planting trees and plants to create oxygen, lower the temperature and improve our sense of well-being. After completing the front of the building, it is now the turn of the north garden. (11/2022 - 01/2023)
  • In 2023 we will get a composter for organic garden waste (leaves, branches etc.)
  • We eliminated the plastic straws in the building's restaurant and replaced them with biodegradable eco-friendly straws
  • We eliminated single use plastic water bottles in meeting rooms and replaced them with glass ones.

Green Building Access Policy

Fixed wheel drive vehicles
The building is located very close to the Pallini Metro and Suburban Station, just 850 meters. We encourage access to the building by fixed rail vehicles powered by electricity.

Bicycles
By February 2023 we will provide guarded bike space, stands and for those using electric bikes, power supply. Also space for storing cyclists' clothes and changing rooms for showers.

Electric cars
We encourage the use of electric cars. By the end of November 2022, two 22KW chargers each will be installed in the basement, with free access and free charging until 30 June 2023.
